‘Limbo’, produced in collaboration with tightwire artist and dancer Paula Quintas Santos, was a collaborative installation including voice, electronics and tightwire. Paula originally trained as a dancer but took on the tightwire as the ultimate test of power, stability and focus. She talks of having an intensely ambivalent relationship with the apparatus which can cause her both joy and affirmation, as well intense pain and humilitation. This experience means that every performance takes the form of an intense battle between her inner strength and the undeniable forces of gravity which aim to throw her off balance. Paula has since returned to her native Spain where she is working as both a dancer and tightwire artist.

Limbo was performed at Circus Space in July 2012.
