Manic is a two-movement string quartet performed by the award-winning Carpe Diem String Quartet. It juxtaposes moments of extreme tension and aggression with sudden instances of calm and stillness. The second movement hints at momentary peace, however this brief tranquility retains a strong sense of foreboding, hinting at the mania lying just below the surface.

Manic received an honourable mention in the annual Carnegie Mellon string quartet competition, 2016.
