I was commissioned by The Riot Ensemble and Zeitgeist in 2020 to write a piece for solo violin responding to lockdown in some way. Working closely with the wonderful violinist Sarah Saviet I wrote Undone which explores my feelings at the early stage of lockdown when it felt like everything was falling to pieces (but not entirely falling apart). To reflect this, she detunes her violin by a minor 6th and explores a microtonal landscape, creating a whole range of fascinating sonorities in the process.
